Should class be a protected characteristic?
Around 39% of people in professional jobs are from a working-class background, and of those who are, they earn on average £6,000 per year less than middle-class peers.
So should class / socio-economic group be a protected characteristic in the UK? How much of a difference would this make to working-class people? What are the arguments for and against, and who is making these arguments?
This workshop explores the impact of class in the UK and what organisations should be aware of when trying to build inclusive cultures.
