Opening up what is a difficult conversation
Whilst the purpose of the conversation on racial injustice hasn’t really changed in recent times, the context certainly has, and so has the level of societal engagement around it.
That’s good news, obviously, but it has brought its own challenges as this has created a need for difficult organisational conversations about racial inclusion and diversity among people who had previously considered themselves to be unaffected by the issue. It’s hardly surprising, then, that there is uncertainty and a lack confidence about how to have meaningful discussions about race that lead to positive outcomes.
This session acknowledges this level of awareness and delves into how we can push past our fear and discomfort, learn to speak bravely and respectfully about race, and create an environment where everyone belongs and thrives.
